Acclaim Extra offers reliable post-emergent control of crabgrass and goosegrass without harming desirable turf. This product is most effective during periods of active weed growth. Acclaim Extra works in a single treatment and weeds die as fast as one week.
Acclaim Extra can be applied with a pressurized hydraulic sprayer, high volume handgun spray, hand-held sprayer, or backpack sprayer.
How to Use
Step 1:
Determine how much Acclaim Extra you need for your application by calculating the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure (in feet) the area length and width and multiply the two values (length x width = square footage). For hand-held spray applictions, the rate of Acclaim Extra to use is between 0.30 to 0.46 fl. oz. per gallon of water to treat 1,000 sq. ft. So for example, if you measured a 2,500 sq. ft. area for treatment, you would need to mix 0.75 to 1.15 fl. oz. of Acclaim Extra in 2.5 gallons of water.
Step 2:
Fill a hand-pump sprayer halfway with water then add the required amount of herbicide to the tank.
Replace the cap and agitate by shaking the sprayer. Add the remaining water required and surfactant if needed, then repeat agitation to ensure that the herbicide solution is thoroughly mixed.
Step 3:
Apply product selectively to the target weed, making sure not to over-apply or spray to the point of runoff.
Acclaim Extra can be used in and around turfgrass including sod farms, commercial and residential turf, and ornamentals. It can successfully control the following turfgrass species: Kentucky bluegrass, perennial ryegrass, fine fescue, tall fescue, annual bluegrass, zoysiagrass, creeping bentgrass.
Use Acclaim Extra during the growing season when unwanted weeds are growing on the property. The product is best applied when weeds are young and growing. Choose a calm day to apply Acclaim Extra to minimize the chances of wind drift.
Acclaim Extra is safe to use when applied according to label instructions. Before applying this product, please make sure to put on the proper PPE for safety (long sleeved clothing, gloves, face mask, goggles). Pets and children should not be present during treatment and should remain out of the treated areas until they have completely dried.
Acclaim Extra is compatible in tank mixes with many other commonly used herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, and fertilizers. Always follow the use directions in accordance with the respective labels.
