Antique Chinese Embroidered Silk Fan in Lacquer Box. Handpainted Birds Under Lid. The fan is very fragile and the tortoise (I don’t know how to distinguish if it’s real tortoise) spines on both ends is broken. The fan does not stay open when fanned out on its own. One side is missing a middle section and the other side is broken (cracked/separated) but can be repaired. Some of the middle spines are also seperately from fan and or damaged. The fan looks to be white silk with dragon embroidery. A silk tassels hangs from the bottom. Mother of pearl buttons hold the metal clip from which the tassel hangs. The box is black lacquer and has hand painting under the lid. In beautiful display condition. From a smoke free home.
