Description

This is a small antique fixed hand fan handmade of skin and horn. The skin is cut and perforated in an ornate and elegant crowned shape with gold leaf accents, and supported by a formed horn frame/handle. This is a small and dainty fan, only about 8" long overall. It is likely Asian but could also be European, as these designs were also commonly copied as pieces were brought back from the East by explorers. Very pretty to look at, and a throwback to a time when natural materials were used because that was all that was available - hard to imagine now!
