    Description

    Used INRAD #724 3.8 kHz SSB filter for the Yaesu FT-817/818, FT-857, FT-897 series of transceivers -
    Excellent sounding wide SSB receive audio for these transceivers -
    This filter has been tested with an HP spectrum analyzer and is working properly -
    IMPORTANT:  These transceivers are capable of using the optional filters installed also as transmit filters.  There is insufficient opposite sideband suppression when using a 3.8 kHz filter.  The radio was designed for 2.5 kHz.  This is a receive only optional filter.  Using it on transmit anyone listening to you will hear unsuppressed opposite sideband audio.  Leave the menu setting off for putting the optional filter into the transmit path.
