You are looking at a nice CLEAN Lionel postwar original ZW transformer.  THIS one has been serviced and tested here at Lone Star Trains and is ready to play with NOW.  And for your safety, the cord has been inspected and is in good shape.

And how about that awesome style of how the handles move up and down like a real throttle?  Just like the Addams Family...
This ZW transformer is the most powerful transformer Lionel made back in the day. It has remained the style everyone wants and remembers.  THIS ONE has 250 watts of power and has four variable controls, (two of which have the whistle and direction controllers) so you can run trains and lots more with this one power supply.  Use one or two of the circuits for accessories!
The unit is in cosmetically good shape and is just as nice inside.  The bakelite shell appears clean, and the handles move well.  You can see some light scratches in a few places on the shell, and you might consider polishing it if that sort of thing is important.

CONDITION:
Serviced and works great. New cord. You can see some scratches here and there. There are some scratches and general wear in the top nameplate as pictured. New cord. Bottom metal plate has been repainted. SCROLL DOWN into the listing to see more pictures and to be able to enlarge.
About the Sticker:
In 1952-58, a few cities in the US had their own local electrical statuts that governed, yes, even toys. Los Angeles was one of these cities. The apprval sticker was put on the bottom to ensure customers that the unit was ready for safe and legal local use. Interestingly, THIS transformer was produced 1948-49, so this unit was either sent in for repair to Lionel and received the sticker upon return to LA, or perhaps the unit sat in the toy store until 1952 and got a sticker then.

If there is a problem, such as an error in description or condition, we accept returns within 30 days.
