Presented here is a dynamic microphone produced by Akai around 1963. This was made specifically for the wonderful Akai M-7 tube reel to reel machine. This microphone has been stored in its protective plastic sleeve since its production and shows only minimal storage wear (nearly flawless). The front silvery faceplate and black lettering is still as it was when it left the factory. These microphones usually came packaged with the Akai M-7 machine, but the stands were not often ordered as they were an optional accessory, usually only available at a military exchange. This original Akai metal M-7 microphone stand allows the microphone to be tilted up at a slight angle and are a wonderful cosmetic and functional addition to your Akai M-7 collection.
The gorgeous glossy black paint is smooth and stunning, without any chips. For Akai M-7 microphones, this is our best unit in over 20 years.
This microphone has been tested and sounds excellent. The cord has a fabric winding around it, as typical for this model. We have unwound the factory wound cord for testing to confirm signal. The plug is a 1/4" jack which the M-7 possesses for microphone usage. The microphone is cosmetically gorgeous with only a few indications of storage wear. As you can see in the pictures, it is very sharp and stunning.
