This Auction is for a Original Kodachrome 35mm  slide ..... ..
RAF English Electric Lightning F.6 CN 95261. Taken at RAF Waddington , United Kingdom *WTN)(EGXW) on April 28 , 1990 .
British Aerospace (now BAE Systems) were the last users of the Lightning in the UK, and they have preserved one of them at their plant at Warton in Lancashire.
First flown on 28th February 1967, she served with 11 and 74 Squadrons and was damaged by a fire when with 74 Squadron at RAF Tengah in April 1970. Returned to Warton for repair, she was reissued to the RAF and 23 Squadron in 1972, and later 56 Squadron at Akrotiri. She finished her active career with 11 Squadron at Binbrook and was returned to BAe on retirement, preserved for crew escape procedure training purposes. BAE Systems fund the North West Heritage Group who ensure that the aircraft is looked after. The aircraft is now on display within BAe Warton - though unfortunately she's not visible to the general public.

Used as high speed target and calibration aircraft for the Tornado F.3 missile development programme
November 1992
To Fire Dump, BAE Warton.
Fuselage stripped for spares and placed on fire dump.
By 7 August 1999
Restoration completed.
