Blossom-end rot of tomatoes is a common problem encountered by the home gardener. It can be recognized by the dark grey black sunken area on the blossom-end (bottom) of the fruit. This area may be small or cover almost half the fruit. When large, the sunken area appears flat. This problem is caused primarily by calcium deficiency in the fruit. I future crops it may be reduced by proper liming of the soil. But, on a crop already in progress, the plant must be supplied with calcium very rapidly to correct the problem. This can be done with SA-50 Brand Blossom-End Rot of Tomatoes.
Instructions
:
Apply SA-50 Brand Stop Blossom-End Rot of Tomatoes as a spray using 2 tablespoonfuls (1 fluid ounce) per gallon of water. Apply as a thorough cover spray to foliage and fruit. Use at weekly intervals for at least 3 sprays. This material may be added to regular sprays
for
insects and disease and is compatible with materials such as Malathion, Diazinon, Sevin,
Dithiane
, and Neutral Copper. Do not use greater than the recommended rate or injury to the plant may result.
