USAF NORTHROP YF-17 COBRA LIGHTWEIGHT FIGHTER DECOUPAGE 7-1/2 X 10-1/2  INCH WALL HANGING-  - You are bidding on a 7-1/2 by 10-1/2 inch (approx) print mounted on wood using decoupage. It is 3/4 inch thick pine with sawtooth hanging device on reverse. Aircraft identification on reverse. Shown in flight over the California Desert.
Decoupage is a visible art form created by gluing paper onto a board rough sanding the edges and fine sand all over to get an apprearance that seems to be popping out of the wood. Then a coating with usually several layers of finish (such as lacquer or varnish) is applied. There is a lot of time and talent in making one of these!
The Northrop YF-17 was a prototype lightweight fighter aircraft designed by Northrop aviation for the United States Air Force's Lightweight Fighter technology evaluation program. First flight‎ was ‎9 June 1974 and developed into‎ the ‎US Navy McDonnell Douglas F/A-18.
