Wow! Now here's a hard-to-find decal for your collection! "Howdy, Podner" says Vegas Vic, the rangy cigarette-smoking LAS VEGAS. NEVADA mascot from the 1950's! The real Vegas Vic was a 40 foot neon cowboy that greeted visitors from atop the old Pioneer Club (gone now) with a booming "Howdy Partner!" (In 1966,
actor Lee Marvin -- in town filming a movie -- complained of the noise, and the imposing cowboy was silenced for more than 20 years.)
While this great old decal doesn't speak, it retains all the flavor of Vegas Vic and his welcome! A fantastic piece of artwork as commissioned by the famous LINDGREN-TURNER CO
, probably in the mid 1960s, the colors are as rich and vibrant today as when the decal was first produced. It measures 2 3/4" wide by 4" tall and is in almost perfect condition, and is in its original printed glassine sleeve.
This is a rare piece of vintage Americana that's sure to be the talking point of any serious collection!
