It's  usually the little parts that you don't pay attention to when  they work but, wow, when they break you know it! One of these is  the gas cap tether which has the simple purpose of keeping your  gas cap hooked to the gas door when filling up. Unfortunately  when it breaks, it's really easy to leave your cap at the gas  station which can be an expensive mistake. Luckily the tether is  an inexpensive part and is easy to replace!
Do it once - do it right!
SUPER IMPORTANT APPLICATION NOTE!!!!
Some 2001-2004 gas caps are smaller in diameter than the normal Volvo cap so be sure to measure the diameter of your cap - it should be 2.75" (70mm) across - if it's 2.50" (63mm) across then this tether will NOT fit your cap.
